ABOUT FATOU N'DIAYE- Fatou N'Diaye
is an accomplished dancer, choreographer,
and performer from Senegal, West Africa.
She is a former member of Ballet Nationale
du Senegal. She was the founder and director
of Ballet Silimbo in Senegal and the founder
and director of Silimbo D'Adeane West African
Dance Company in Boston, MA., where she
currently resides. The company name Silimbo
D'Adeane means " Sunrise over Adeane".
Adeane is the village where Fatou was born
in Casamance region of Senegal. Fatou teaches
in the Cambridge and Boston area performing
in local schools, colleges, and cultural
arts events. She has dedicated herself to
sharing her culture and heritage through
dance, music, and storytelling. Her West
African Drum and Dance Conferences furthers
her mission and showcases the talents of
fellow artists across the African Diaspora.

workshops & African market
will be in studios on the third
floor: adult dance classes in
studio #3, drum, song, storytelling

Thompson Theatre at The Dance

and grace of traditional dance
from Ghana with world renowned
Master Dancer Nani Agbeli.
Mr. Agbeli, who hails from
the Ewe region of this storied
West African country, will
be in Boston Nov. 15-Dec.
7 as an artist-in-residence
at Tufts University. Fortunately,
the Dance Complex was able
to get him for what promises
to be three electrifying Ghanaian
dance classes. Whether you
are new to West African dance,
or simply looking to tackle
a beautiful tradition that
is normally hard to find in
Boston, Mr. Agbeli's teaching
will inspire and challenge
all ability levels. Set to
live drumming of top area
musicians, including Jerry
Leake and Jeremy Cohen, this
is a major cultural event
not to be missed!
